New installation planning
Start with what the slab needs to support.
A shed base, a small detached structure and an outdoor equipment pad are different projects. Define the intended use before asking about dimensions, loads and construction details.
New installation inquiries. No repair-only requests. Availability must be confirmed.

Start with the way you will use it
A slab is more than its visible surface. The intended load, supporting ground, moisture conditions and relationship to nearby structures affect the design. Bring dimensions and manufacturer or design requirements for anything that will sit on the slab.
Define the scope before comparing prices
Ask about excavation, subgrade, base material, drainage, reinforcement, moisture control, edges and joints. Structural foundations, engineering, utility trenches and inspections need project-specific confirmation. This page does not offer structural design or foundation repair.
Questions worth asking
- What design or manufacturer requirements do you need from me?
- Who determines thickness, reinforcement and ground preparation?
- Are permit reviews or inspections needed for this use?
- What is included around the edges and beneath the slab?
What changes the quote?
Area, thickness, reinforcement, access, excavation and engineering requirements can change the scope. A quote should describe the intended use and inclusions so that a lower price does not conceal a different design.
Read the planning guide →What affects the schedule?
Design requirements and inspections may come before placement. Weather and curing also affect when the slab can carry its intended load. Ask for the actual installation sequence and loading restrictions.
Prepare for a Fort Mill project
Identify the property jurisdiction before assuming permit requirements. Describe runoff, access and connections to existing surfaces so the provider can assess them.
Local planning sources: Town of Fort Mill permitting and stormwater and land-disturbance forms. Check the authority responsible for your property; requirements depend on the project.

Your next step
Prepare the address, intended use, dimensions and questions. Confirm coverage, qualifications and written scope directly with the provider.
